Woman journalist stages dharna demanding action against Anubhav

FIR against Anubhav Mohanty: woman journalist’s statement recorded

Cuttack: The statement of a woman journalist, who was allegedly misbehaved by BJD MP Anubhav Mohanty and his brother, has been recorded at the court of JMFC in Odisha’s Cuttack on Tuesday.

“Statements of complainant & witnesses recorded under Section 164. We hope to complete investigation by one week. CCTV footages are being inspected and scrutinised. A final report will be prepared very soon,” informed Cuttack DCP Akhilesvar Singh.

Notably, the woman journalist had staged a dharna at the Purighat police station citing threat to her life and demanding action against the accused.

On June 14, she had filed a complaint that actor-turned-politician Anubhav Mohanty’s brother Anuprash was repeatedly harassing her while she used to go for work.

She also alleged that Anubhav abused her verbally and had even spat on her when she had gone to complain against Anuprash.
