Sex racket busted in Odisha’s Kalahandi, 3 arrested

Bhawanipatna: At least three persons were arrested and a woman was rescued after a sex racket was busted in Odisha’s Kalahandi district, said police on Thursday.

The sex racket operating in a rented house at Pipelnala was busted late last night.

Police have arrested three persons, including the kingpin of the racket. The woman rescued hails from West Bengal.

Acting on a tip-off about the racket, Bhawanipatna Town police raided the house on Wednesday night.

The police have also seized four mobile phones and some objectionable items from the spot.

The kingpin of the racket was earlier arrested under the Immoral Traffic Prevention Act, 1956, police sources said.

Police said they are investigating into the matter further to find out the involvement of other persons in the sex trade.
