Odisha govt directs to open additional counters in RTOs

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has decided to open additional counters in RTOs to facilitate the issuance of driving licenses.

Besides, additional pollution testing centres will be set up and rate charts will be displayed so that the middlemen would not rule the roost, informed Transport secretary G Srivanasan.

Transport Minister Padmanabh Behera said the Department will ask officials and staff to open offices on holidays to ease the volumes of transactions and facilitate documentation of vehicles.

He said driving license, insurance, pollution under check certificates, apart from vehicle registration and other documentation will be done on fast track to complete the pending work within three months.
