Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will pay pension to women undergoing divorce proceedings, informed by Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Minister, Ashok Chandra Panda on Saturday.
He said women, with a gross annual income of below Rs 40,000, will get pension under the Madhu Babu Pension Yojana (MBPY) during their divorce proceedings.
Panda said a woman will have to deposit the documents related to the divorce case in order to become eligible to avail the scheme.
Notably, the state government is providing pension to widow, differently-abled and old age people under the Madhu Babu Pension Yojana.
