Bijepur bypoll: Political parties release star campaigners’ list

Bhubaneswar: The three major political parties Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and Congress have released their list of star campaigners for the ensuing by-poll to Bijepur assembly constituency in Odisha’s Bargarh district.

They have roped in as many as 120 star campaigners for the by-election.

BJP working president JP Nadia, senior leaders like Arun Singh, Union ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Smriti Irani, Pratap Sarangi will campaign for BJP candidate Sanat Gadtia.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, senior BJD Ananga Udaya Singhdeo, Prasanna Acharya, Prafulla Mallick, Naba Kishore Das, Pranab Prakash Das, Tukuni Sahu, Dibya Shankar Mishra, Raseswari Panigrahi, Pushpendra Singhdeo, Kalikesh Narayan Singhdeo and Snehangini Chhuria are among the star campaigners for the BJD candidate Rita Sahu.

The Congress party has also released its 40-member star campaigners list for party candidate Dilip Kumar Panda.

The star campaigners include AICC President Sonia Gandhi, former AICC president Rahul Gandhi, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi and party’s state in-charge Jitendra Singh.

The by-poll to Bijepur Assembly constituency will be held on October 21. The counting of votes will be held on October 24.
