Cyclone Bulbul updates: Odisha to experience rainfall


Bhubaneswar: The depression over Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea has intensified into a deep depression and is very likely to intensify into a Cyclonic Storm during the next 24 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Wednesday.

“It is very likely to intensify into a Cyclonic Storm during next 24 hours. It is very likely to move westnorthwestwards for some more time and then north-northwestwards, towards West Bengal and adjoining north Odisha and Bangladesh coasts,” the IMD said.

Cyclone Bulbul updates for Odisha

Under the impact of cyclone Bulbul, several parts of Odisha are likely to receive rainfall.

“Light to moderate rainfall at most places very likely over north coastal districts of Odisha from 9th & 10th November,” it said.

Squally wind speed reaching 40 – 50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph is likely to commence over northwest Bay of Bengal off Odisha – West Bengal coasts from 8th November evening and gradually increase thereafter.

Fishermen are advised not to venture into north Bay of Bengal along & off Odisha– West Bengal coasts from 8th November onwards.
