KALIA Yojana: Congress brings privilege notice against Agri Minister

Bhubaneswar: Congress MLA Mohammed Moquim on Wednesday moved a breach of privilege notice against Agriculture Minister Arun Sahoo accusing him of furnishing wrong information on the status of ineligible KALIA beneficiaries in Odisha.

The Congress member informed that the Agriculture Minister has told the House that 45965 ineligible beneficiaries have been identified under the Kalia Yojana.

But the information under the RTI Act revealed that there are 1,72,908 ineligible beneficiaries under the KALIA Yojana in 10 districts only.

“Either the Minister intentionally suppressed the fact or misled the house by giving false information, which amounts to breach of privilege of the House,” said Moquim.
