CM announces steps strengthening healthcare infra


Bhubaneswar: Based on patients’ feedback received under the Mo Sarkar initiative, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday announced steps to strengthen healthcare infrastructures in six district headquarters hospitals (DHHs).

The Chief Minister directed to strengthen health infrastructure in Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Kendrapada and Sonepur DHHs and Balangir medical college.

Patnaik directed to provide Rs 15 lakh each to six patient welfare samits in Sambalpur, Deogarh, Kendrapara, Anugul and Sonepur from CM’s relief fund.

Besides, district SPs will get Rs 10 lakh assistance for encouraging blood donation.

While the bed capacity in 4 district headquarters hospitals- Deogarh, Angul, Kendrapara and Sonepur will be increased to 200, building construction work of Bolangir medical college would be completed within 2 years, directed the Chief Minister.
