BPCL’s LPG bottling plant inaugurated in Bolangir


Bolangir: Odisha Governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal on Friday dedicated an LPG bottling plant in Bolangir.

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has set up the new state of the art LPG Bottling Plant at Village Barkani in the district.

Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, State Higher Education Minister Arun Sahoo, Bolangir MP Sangeeta Singh Deo, and local MLA Narasingha Mishra were present on the occasion.

Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu was scheduled to inaugurate the plant. However, his visit to Bolangir was cancelled due to inclement weather.

Union Minister Pradhan said the BPCL bottling plant was completed in a record 19 months.

The plant, which has been constructed with an investment of Rs 103 crore, has the capacity to produce 42 lakh cylinders per year. The LPG bottling plant will help to create employment for the people in the area, he added.  

The BPCL LPG bolting plant will supply LPG cylinders to the consumers in 14 districts of Odisha namely Balangir, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Kalahandi, Sonepur Koraput, Malkangiri, Nowrangpur, Boudh, Kandhamal, Raygada and Nuapada.
