Kunduli gangrape victim commits suicide

No presence of semen in apparels of Kunduli gang rape victim: CFSL

Bhubaneswar: The Kunduli gang rape case took a new turn as Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) report did not find semen in any of the specimens.

“The report of the CFSL is categorical in stating that from the wearing apparels of the alleged victim girl only human blood of female origin was found and no stains of semen or saliva was detected which confirms the integrity of the final report earlier submitted by SFSL to Hon’ble Court,” said a statement on Monday.

The Odisha Crime Branch had sent the exhibits seized in the Kunduli gangrape case to the Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Kolkata, for a second opinion following reported inconsistencies in the intermediate inter-division draft report and the final report of the State Forensic Science Laboratory.

The alleged victim of gang rape of Pottangi police station in Koraput district was initially medically examined and the report suggested no external Injuries.

The report of the Director SFSL submitted to the court revealed that the stains available on the wearing apparels of the victim are of human and female origin which belongs to the alleged victim girl.

A section of the media had said that the report indicated the presence of semen drops of different persons on the undergarment of the victim.
