Bhubaneswar: Odisha Raj Bhawan garden opened for general visitors and school children for this year on Sunday.
The Raj Bhawan garden will remain open till January 19 including Sundays and all holidays. The visiting hour is from 2.30 pm to 5 pm, said an official.
The visitors can enjoy the lush green lawn, deer park, musical fountain, open aquarium, and bird enclosure.
Schoolchildren can visit the garden between January 6 and January 21 between 8.30 am and 10:00 am. School authorities need to send a request to the ADC to Governor or ACP (security), Raj Bhavan to obtain passes.
The Odisha Raj Bhavan garden boasts of lush green lawns, rose garden, and flower beds along the main driveway where a variety of seasonal flowers are grown besides medicinal gardens for medicinal herbs and a kitchen garden.
Six fountains decorated with colourful lights beautify the lawn.
For hassle-free entry to the Odisha Raj Bhawan garden, a mobile phone application has been developed which may be downloaded from website –rajbhavanodisha.gov.in –for Android users.
Visitors can generate QR code entry pass on their smartphones which will be scanned at Raj Bhavan gate.
People without smartphones can manually register themselves at the Raj Bhavan reception centre here, said an official.
The office
of the Governor has urged visitors not to get any eatables into the Raj Bhavan
campus and not to throw waste papers/ plastic in the gardens.
