NALCO honours achievers on 40th Foundation Day


Bhubaneswar: National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) on Tuesday conferred prestigious awards to artists, institutions, NGOs and eminent scholars for their contribution towards various fields in the society.

They were awarded on the occasion of NALCO’s 40th Foundation Day Celebrations in Bhubaneswar.  

Inspired by the rich contribution in promoting and teaching Sanskrit literature, the company awarded the ‘NALCO Kalidas Awards’ to Prof Prafulla Kumar Mishra and Prof Raghunath Panda.

For their significant achievements and contributions to Odissi Dance, NALCO ‘Kharavela Awards (Guru)’ were bestowed on Bharat Charan Giri and Rupashree Mohapatra, while Gaurishankar Dash and Manjushree Panda were conferred with ‘NALCO Kharvela Awards (Dancer)’.  

‘NALCO Smiles Award’ was awarded to Ganjam Orthopedically Handicapped Welfare Association for their efforts towards resettlement and rehabilitation of differently-abled children/persons.

All the awardees were honoured with a cash award and citation. 

Addressing the occasion, Sridhar Patra, CMD, NALCO praised all the awardees for their significant contributions in various fields and highlighted the company’s vision stepping on to the 40th year of its operations.

Patra said, ‘’NALCO has come a long way over the last 4 decades. We celebrate the Foundation Day to rejoice our association with the organization and also to renew our commitment to help the Company soar to greater heights of glory.

Patra added, “While we are stepping on to the 40th Year of business excellence, we need to keep the organization vibrant and dynamic. This calls for innovation and creativity at all levels of operations.”
