Coronavirus: No positive case in Odisha so far


Bhubaneswar: In Odisha till date, not a single positive case has been detected relating to Coronavirus, said Health secretary Nikunja Bihari Dhal on Sunday.

He informed that 131 persons from different points of entry have been put under active surveillance by State IDSP so far.

Out of which till date 10 persons admitted in the hospital (SCBMCH, Cuttack- 6, VIMSAR, Burla-2 & Capital Hospital, BBSR-2) and all tested to be negative, he added.

The Health secretary said that Coronavirus testing can be done at Bhubaneswar-based RMRC.

On Saturday, the first sample was tested at RMRC which was found to be negative.

He also said that samples of cases from private and government hospitals and AIIMS will be sent to RMRC here for testing.

While isolation wards with ventilator support has been created at major MCHs and Capital Hospital here, screening of all passengers is being done at airports & ports.

Besides, workplace advisory has been issued to all departments/corporates and other institutes and school advisory has been issued to all schools.
