Coronavirus: Private vehicles not to ply during lockdown


Bhubaneswar: In view of Coronavirus, the Odisha government has directed that private vehicles will not be allowed to ply during the lockdown period in the notified areas.

Private vehicles will not be allowed to ply during the lockdown period in the notified areas except those belonging to persons engaged in organisations/agencies permitted to operate as listed in the notification, said an official.

Such persons shall carry appropriate ID proof/documents, the official.

Notably, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday announced to locks down 40 percent of Odisha including state capital for a week.

The near-complete lockdown will be in force in districts of Khordha, Cuttack, Ganjam, Kendrapara and Angul as well as eight major towns-Puri, Rourkela, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Balasore, Jajpur road and Jajpur town, Bhadrak from 7.00 am on March 22 till 9.00 pm on March 29.
