Doctor suspended for violating COVID-19 rules in Odisha


Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Friday suspended a doctor for violating COVID-19 rules.

The government has placed under suspension Dr. Lalit Behera, doctor of Odisha State Assembly zonal dispensary, with immediate effect.

A health department order said that Behera has been placed under suspension pending disciplinary proceedings against him.

Behera had treated a patient with symptom of COVID-19 infection. However, he did not report the matter to the department.

The patient was found to have COVID-19 positive on Thursday. The 60-year-old patient is the third COVID-19 positive case in Odisha.
