Bhubaneswar: Odisha Police have started a Phone-Up programme to look into problems of victims of domestic violence during the Lockdown for COVID-19.
Through the initiative, the policemen will contact women who had earlier reported domestic violence to enquire about their condition over the phone during the ongoing lockdown.
“Odisha Police starting a 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲-𝗨𝗽 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲 to look into problems of victims of domestic violence during the Lockdown for COVID-19. Telephone calls will be made to such victims, to find out their wellbeing and for follow up action,” tweeted the Odisha Police.
The initiative will be implemented with the help of the State Crime Record Bureau, said an official.
