Phone-Up programme for victims of domestic violence in Odisha


Bhubaneswar: Odisha Police have started a Phone-Up programme to look into problems of victims of domestic violence during the Lockdown for COVID-19.

Through the initiative, the policemen will contact women who had earlier reported domestic violence to enquire about their condition over the phone during the ongoing lockdown.

โ€œOdisha Police starting a ๐—ฃ๐—ต๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฒ-๐—จ๐—ฝ ๐—ฝ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—บ๐—ฒ to look into problems of victims of domestic violence during the Lockdown for COVID-19. Telephone calls will be made to such victims, to find out their wellbeing and for follow up action,โ€ tweeted the Odisha Police.

The initiative will be implemented with the help of the State Crime Record Bureau, said an official.
