Heat wave in Odisha: SRC asks collectors to ensure precautionary measures

Bhubaneswar: Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) PK Jena has asked the district collectors to ensure precautionary measures for tacking the heat wave situation in the state.

The SRC, in a letter to all collectors, requested to review and ensure that all precautionary measures to combat the situation are in place and activated.

He asked them to emphasize immediate repair of tubewells and piped water supply projects, supply through tankers in habitations facing drinking water scarcity, opening of ‘Paniya Jala Kendras’ at strategic locations, special arrangements in hospitals/dispensaries, PHCs/CHCs for treatment of heat stroke patients, taking care of animal resources, restricting the work hours of labourers, etc.
