RI arrested by Vigilance for accepting bribe in Bhadrak

Bhubaneswar: The Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday arrested a Revenue Inspector (RI) of Chandabali Revenue Circle in Bhadrak district for allegedly demanding and accepting illegal gratification.

RI Subrat Kumar Mallick has been caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Balasore Division while accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000 from complainant Kishore Kumar Panda of Panasapada village.

The RI had demanded money to submit an enquiry report in favour of the complainant to issue a legal heir certificate.  

The bribe money was recovered from Mallick and seized in presence of witnesses. His office room at Chandabali and house at native village Badakiari in the district were searched.

Mallick has been arrested and is being forwarded to the court, said the Vigilance.
