Odisha’s COVID cases rise to 34913


Bhubaneswar: The number of COVID-19 positive cases mounted to 34913 in Odisha as 1434 more persons tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, informed the health department on Sunday.

The COVID death toll increased to 197 as ten more people from the state have succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours.

Four deaths are reported from Ganjam district, three from Khurda district and one each from Jajpur, Kalahandi and Sundergarh district.

The death toll in Ganjam crossed 100.

Out of the 1434 cases, 889 were detected in quarantine while 545 are local contact cases.

With this, the number of active cases in the state increased to 13404 while 21273 persons have recovered so far.
