Bhubaneswar: Consolidating its position as number one digital service provider in Odisha, Reliance Jio has added nearly 12 lakh mobile subscribers in the first six months of 2020, as per the telecom subscriber data released recently by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
Among others, Bharti Airtel lost around 10 lakh subscribers during this period followed by Vodafone Idea which lost nearly six lakh subscribers in these six months, revealed the data published by TRAI.
Apart from Jio, state owned BSNL was the only other service to have added subscribers as it added 3.3 lakh subscribers during this period.
As per the recent telecom subscriber data released by TRAI for the month of June 2020, Reliance Jio added 2.21 lakh mobile subscribers in the state followed by BSNL which added 53904 subscribers in Odisha in June 2020.
Both Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea lost lakhs of subscribers in the month. Airtel lost over 2.17 lakh subscribers followed by Vodafone Idea which lost 1.19 lakh subscribers in the state in June 2020.
Total mobile subscribers in the state decreased by 61693 in June 2020.
As per the latest financial report on the sector published by TRAI, Jio has surpassed 50% market share in gross revenue in the state, consolidating its market leader position in both customer and revenue market share.
