Bhubaneswar: As many as 3066 bank employees in Odisha have tested positive for Covid-19 and 14 persons have lost their lives so far after being infected with the virus, informed an official.
In a letter, Arupananda Jena, State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) convenor, informed that 14 bank employees have succumbed to the deadly coronavirus in the state till September 30.
The SBI accounts for the most Covid-19 infected with 968 cases followed by Axis Bank and HDFC bank which witnessed 390 and 320 Covid-19 cases respectively.
The SLBC has also recommended the banks in the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar to function with 50% to 75% strength of employees.
Besides, it has also recommended for closing of bank branches on every Saturdays across Odisha.
