Bus owner fined Rs 5.82 lakh in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Regional Transport Office (RTO)-II, Bhubaneswar has slapped 5.82 lakh fine on a private bus for plying without a permit, payment of Motor Vehicle tax and fitness.

Rs 5,66,981 fine has been slapped on a bus owner for not paying MV Tax from May 2019 onwards till today.

The bus bearing registration number OD10F0409 plying from Koraput to Bhubaneswar has been detained by the enforcement wing of RTO, Bhubaneswar-II at Khandagiri here this morning.

The bus has not paid the MV Tax and was plying without valid stage carriage permit.

The vehicle owned by Sneharekha Padhy of Pujariput in Koraput lacked stage carriage permit and fitness certificate.

Besides, MV tax of the bus from May, 2019 to October, 2020 amounting to Rs 5,66,981 was not paid.
