Bhubaneswar: In line with the Vice-Chancellor’s vision of adopting a student-centric approach and introduction of job oriented curriculums, a Students’ Employability Enhancement Programme was organised as the first step to achieve these goals at Utkal University here.
“Preparing our students for future job search, improving their sense of self-awareness is needed in the current scenario. Apart from such training, we are also working on collaborating with different academic institutions and organisations to introduce job-oriented courses like BioPhysics, Bio-Chemistry, Cyber Security, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Clinical Psychiatry and several others for the development of our University,” said Prof. Sabita Acharya, Vice-Chancellor, Utkal University during the valedictory session on Tuesday.
Utkal University has stepped up its career guidance and placement services with the introduction of this type of training programme.
The programme was organised by Utkal Entrepreneurship & Career Hub established under RUSA 2.0 and Placement Cell of the University.
The six day online programme that started from 22nd December concluded today.
The programme covered topics like Communication & Interpersonal Skills, Organization and Negotiation Skills, Quantitative Aptitude & Reasoning, Team building and relevant life skills.
More than 150 students attended the 6-day training programme. The training was conducted by Identity Training Group, a training solution provider specialising in human capital development for enhancing both management and technical capabilities.
Jasobant Narayan Singhlal, MD, Identity Group took the sessions. Prof. A. A. Khan, Director UECH & Dr. Sarit Panda, Placement Officer, Utkal University played key roles in organising the programme.
