Biggest ever spike: Odisha reports 10,413 new Covid cases

Bhubaneswar: Odisha saw a massive jump in Covid-19 cases as it recorded 10,413 new infections in the last 24 hours, informed the health department on Saturday.

This the biggest spike in a single-day since the outbreak of the pandemic in the state last year. The positive tally in the state surged to 4,54,607.

Odisha has 67,086 active cases.

At least 11 patients also succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours taking the total death tally to 2,054.

Of the new cases, 5,887 were detected from quarantine, while 4,526 cases were detected during contact tracing.

Khordha district reported the maximum 1,796 cases, followed by Sundargarh (1100), Cuttack (828), Puri (533) and Bargarh (511).
