Odisha bandh tomorrow by Congress on Mamita murder case issue

Bhubaneswar: The Congress party will hold a six-hour Odisha bandh tomorrow (November 12) seeking justice for deceased lady teacher Mamita Meher.

The bandh will be effective from 6 am to 12 pm, informed party spokesperson Debasish Patnaik.

The state unit president of the Indian National Congress, Niranjan Patnaik has urged the people of the state to extend support to the state-wide bandh.

It has been demanding the dismissal of Minister of State (MoS) Home Dibya Shankar Mishra for his alleged link with Govind Sahu, prime accused in the sensational Mamita Meher murder case.

The party has also demanded registration of criminal case and arrest of the Minister.

During the bandh, road traffic and train services are likely to get affected as the party workers will stage road blockades and Rail Roko at several places.

Besides, shops and other business establishments, offices, educational institutions and petrol pumps are likely to remain shut during the shutdown.

Emergency services will be excluded from the ambit of the Odisha bandh 2021, the party said.
