Sambalpur lawyers suspend strike

Hours after 12 lawyers were arrested and licenses of 29 lawyers were suspended, the Central Action Committee of All Bar Associations of Western Odisha has decided to suspended the ongoing protest.

The lawyers’ body have been protesting for a long period demanding establishment of a permanent High Court bench in Sambalpur.

“Keeping in view the decision of Supreme Court, the Central Action Committee of all Bar Association of Western Odisha decided to suspend the ongoing movement of strike,” said Central Action Committee of All Bar Associations of Western Odisha in a resolution.

The lawyers’ body also hoped that Bench of Odisha High Court in western Odisha at Sambalpur will be established. “The Action Committee and Bar Association, Sambalpur have high hope for formation of permanent Bench of Odisha High Court in western Odisha at Sambalpur from all the Constitutional Authorities, Central Government, State Government and High Court of Odisha” said the Central Action Committee.

The Central Action Committee of all Bar Associations of Western of Odisha reposed complete faith in the Supreme Court.
