Action against South Point Hopsital for BSKY irregularities


Bhubaneswar: On the allegations of irregular activities by South Point Hospital, Cuttack in BSKY scheme, the state government has taken stringent actions.

Secretary Health and Family Welfare Shalini Pandit said that the actions taken would come to immediate effect from today.


In the first phase, the major actions included the following.

  1. The hospital has been de-empanelled.
  2. Swasthya Mitra deployed to the said hospital has been disengaged.
  3. District Administration has been requested to shift the patient undergoing treatment under BSKY in the said hospital to appropriate BSKY empanelled private hospital or to Govt. facilities for further continuance of uninterrupted treatment.
  4. The State team have been instructed to further investigate into the claims raised by the said hospital earlier vis-a-vis claims scrutinized by Claim Panel Doctors of State Health Assurance Society.
  5. Intensive patient feedback is being collected through outbound calls to past patients at South Point Hospital in order to check past fraud, if any.
