Bhubaneswar: Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has declared the results of the Odisha Civil Services Examination-2021. Sudev Kumar Prusty, from the SEBC category, has emerged as the topper in this recruitment examination.
The OPSC has recommended a total of 432 candidates, including 164 women candidates, in the order of merit for appointment to the post/services falling under the Odisha Civil Services (Group-A & B)-2021. The selection was based on the Main (Written) Examination conducted from 21st February 2023 to 18th March 2023 and the Personality Test held from 15th July 2023 to 25th July 2023.
Among the recommended candidates, there are 229 (91 women) candidates under the UR category, 39 (12 women) candidates from the SEBC category, 71 (27 women) candidates from the SC category, 93 (34 women) candidates from the ST category, 8 Ex-Servicemen, 1 Sportsperson, and 10 candidates with PWD status. Notably, 164 women candidates have been recommended, comprising 38 per cent of the successful candidates.
The OCS Examination – 2021 received a total of 58,241 applications, with 20,930 of them being from women. Out of these, 29,295 candidates (including 10,284 women) appeared in the Preliminary Examination held on 16th October 2022. A total of 5,296 candidates (including 1,749 women) qualified in the Preliminary Examination.
The OCS (Main) 2021 written examination took place from 21st February 2023 to 18th March 2023, with 4,430 candidates (including 1,539 women) participating in the main examination.
After the Main examination, 871 candidates (including 313 women) were called for Document Verification and the Personality Test, which was conducted at the Office of the Commission in Cuttack from 15th July 2023 to 25th July 2023 (including Government Holidays).
The OPSC mentioned that one UR (PwD) post shall be filled subject to the outcome of the W.P(C) No.22903 of 2023.
In a notification, the OPSC stated, “On the basis of the Main (Written) Examination held from 21.02.2023 to 18.03.2023 & Personality Test held from 15.07.2023 to 25.07.2023 of Odisha Civil Services Examination, Services Examination, 2021, the Commission hereby recommends 432 (164 women) candidates in order of merit for appointment to the Post/Services coming under the Odisha Civil Services (Group-A & B)-2021, pursuant to Advt. No. 25 of 2021-22.”
