Lekhasri Samantsinghar jumps ship: Joins BJD after exiting BJP

Bhubaneswar: Shortly after departing from the BJP, Lekhasri Samantsinghar swiftly aligned herself with the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Odisha.

In a ceremony held at Shankha Bhawan in Bhubaneswar, the former vice president of the Odisha unit of BJP officially joined the ranks of the conch party. This momentous occasion was graced by BJD leaders, including Manas Mangaraj.

Expressing her gratitude towards Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and 5T Chairman VK Pandian for warmly welcoming her into the regional party, Lekhasri pledged her commitment to serving the BJD and the people with unwavering dedication.

“After joining the BJD at the event, I am eager to contribute to the party’s mission,” Lekhasri affirmed.

Earlier that day, Lekhasri severed her decade-long association with the BJP, citing a sense of ‘neglect’ within the party despite her earnest efforts and dedication. Her resignation letter addressed to Odisha BJP President Manmohan Samal emphasized her years of devoted service to the Bharatiya Janata Party. However, feeling disillusioned by the lack of recognition and trust from the party leadership, she concluded that her aspirations to serve the people of Odisha were better aligned with the BJD.
