Odisha: Women employees to get paid menstrual leave


Cuttack: The Odisha government on Thursday announced one-day paid menstrual leave for women employees of the state government and private sector. 

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced the decision on the occasion of the 78th Independence Day in Cuttack.

Parida said women employees of the state government and private sector can avail of the leave on the first or second day of their menstrual cycle.

Parida said that the state government will soon announce a Menstrual Health Policy. 

She said that the decision has been taken within the first 100 days of the Women and Child Development Department of the BJP government.
