Chhatrapur: The famous Chaitra Mangal Yatra of Maa Taratarini, the presiding deity of Ganjam district has commenced with elaborate arrangements by the district administration. Extending its support for this significant cultural festival, Adani Foundation has contributed Rs 6 lakh towards the successful organization of the festival.
In a special moment, Shri Sandeep Jaiswal, Business Head of Gopalpur Port, on behalf of Adani Foundation handed over a cheque worth Rs 6 lakh to Dibya Jyoti Parida, Collector & District Magistrate of Ganjam. Among others, Bhakta Bandhu Satpathy, Head (IR) and Debadutta Mishra, Head (CSR) of Gopalpur Port were present.
On this occasion, Jaiswal said that this contribution reflects Adani Foundation’s commitment to preserving the cultural heritage of Ganjam district and promoting local traditions. He further emphasized that being associated with an age-old festival like the Chaitra Mangal Yatra of Maa Taratarini is a matter of great pride for the Adani foundation.
Dibya Jyoti Parida, Collector, Ganjam appreciated Adani Foundation’s support and stated that the funds would be utilized for enhancing essential services, including streamlining devotee visits and improving necessary facilities for pilgrims.
The Chaitra Mangala Yatra is a revered festival of Odisha, drawing thousands of devotees who seek blessings from Maa Taratarini, one of the prominent Shakti Pithas.
The support from Adani Foundation is expected to aid in better management and organization of the grant event. The Chaitra Mela which starts from the first Tuesday of the Hindu month of Chaitra continues for the four Tuesdays of the month. The temple is located on a hill at the bank of river Rushikulya.
