Bhubaneswar: Sishir Gamang, son of former Chief Minister Giridhar Gamang, on Monday filed a petition before the Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) alleging that he may get killed by the family members of his wife.
I have a filed a petition seeking protection to me and my son from the family of my wife. Some of the family members of my wife have a criminal background. I fear that they may frame me in a false case or even try to beat me up and kill me – Sishir Gamang.
He alleged that they might try to extort money from me through different means.
The officials of the Commission have informed that it does not come under their purview. They will forward the case to the DCP and other competent police authorities – Sishir Gamang.
Notably, the former Chief Minister’s son had lodged a written complaint on Saturday with the Commissionerate Police ACP Zone-3 against his wife Monica.
He alleged that his wife was harassing him and their 10-year old son.
He had also alleged that his wife had taken away Rs 12-15 lakh cash and jewelry worth Rs 2.30 crores after leaving the house with her boyfriend.
However, the allegations of Sishir were rejected by his wife Monica.
