Chinese investors keen to invest in Odisha


Bhubaneswar: A Chinese delegation consisting of 8-member on Thursday held discussion with Odisha government officials on investment in the state.

Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi, Chairman of Odisha Skill Development Authority Subrato Bagchi and Development Commissioner R. Balakrishnan held discussion with the delegation.

The members of the group highly appreciated the initiatives taken by State Government for industrial development and make in Odisha Conclave.  They also appreciated the new IPR policy and opined that the policy in fact had motivated them to come to Odisha and look into the investment opportunities here.

Padhi appraised them about the specific facilitating policies in Textile, Apparel, Manufacturing, electronics, electrical, health, bio-tech Plastic Park, food processing tourism chemicals & petrochemicals etc and assured them all enabling support from the government.

He assured them for timely clearance of the proposals, provision of office space, land, 24×7 quality power supply etc.

Development Commissioner Balakrishnan appraised the team about the institutional arrangements like single window clearance,   land bank, industry facilitation center in IPICOL for providing all support to the investors.

He also asked them to give him a call over telephone or send a Whats App message when any genuine investor faces any difficulty or inordinate delay in the transactions of official matters. The members of the team expressed their intent for investment in the State and assured that they would come up with their respective proposals soon.

Dr Sarat Sahoo, former member of Odisha Planning Board led the delegation to the meeting. The major industries and groups who joined the delegation included the representatives from Comdaq Industries, JK Import & Export, Sindoz, Total Freight Solutions, China-India Trade & Investment Platform, M-Day group etc.
