Curfew in Bhadrak

Odisha CM visits violence-hit Bhadrak town

Bhadrak: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday visited the violence-hit Bhadrak town and reviewed the situation with officials.

He also visited several areas amid tight security.

Meanwhile, internet and bus services in the town have resumed with normalcy gradually returning to the town.

The district administration has relaxed curfew for nine hours from 7 am to 4 pm today.

The bus service, which had come to a halt following the unrest, resumed to other parts of the district including Chandabali, Banta and Dhamnagar.

This apart, the restriction imposed by the state government over usage of internet and social media was lifted last evening.

Educational institutions in the town have been directed by the district Collector to remain open from 8 am to 10.30 am. Banks and government offices have also been instructed to remain open.

Notably, the communally-sensitive Bhadrak town was on boil after some inflammatory posts were posted on social networking site leading to tension between two communities.
