National Safety Week campaign: Hundreds of workers take safety oath at Gopalpur Port


Chatrapur: The 54th National Safety Week campaign commenced at Gopalpur Port with a theme of “Safety and well-being crucial for Viksit Bharat”. Hundreds of workers along with officials took the safety oath to uphold safety standards in their daily operations.

Marking the occasion, Sandeep Jaiswal, Business Head, Gopalpur Port, hoisted the safety flag and officially launched a week-long series of safety related activities.

During the inaugural event, Jaiswal emphasized the importance of adhering to the Adani Group’s safety guidelines and protocols, ensuring that all employees and workers at the port maintain high level of awareness and caution in their operations.

He reaffirmed the Adani Group’s commitment to worker safety and environmental protection. He also urged employees to contribute to a clean and plastic-free workplace.

Ajit Kumar Pisharody, Head Operations & Maintenance, Gopalpur Port highlighted four key safety areas that would receive special attention during safety week, that is Workplace safety, Road safety, Environmental safety and digital safety.

Officials from other departments also stressed the need for systematic and disciplined operations to ensure overall safety at the Port. Information was provided on different safety measures that would be undertaken throughout the week. Key activities are Safety Oath ceremony, first aid training, safety poster and slogan competition, mass cleanliness drive, safety awareness quiz, fire drill and rescue demonstrations by the Port fire department.

The officials of the safety department have encouraged the participation of workers and their families in safety awareness initiatives. To recognize and encourage safety efforts, a prize distribution ceremony for outstanding participants will be held on March 10, along with a theatrical performance on workplace safety.

The event was organized under the supervision of Siddhartha Dwibedi Head of Safety department, Gopalpur Port and Mahendra Kumar Nayak, Safety Officers along with other departmental staff.
