BHUBANESWAR: Speaker Niranjan Pujari on Tuesday suspended Congress legislator Naba Kishore Das for allegedly watching porn video clip in the house of Odisha Assembly, while the opposition Congress and BJP staged a walk out protesting the decision of speaker.

The speaker suspended Naba Kishore Das for seven days for allegedly watching porn video clip in the assembly during question hour on Monday.The opposition Congress and BJP urged the Speaker to reconsider his decision as Das’s stand over the porngate was not heeded before taking such decision.

The speaker took the decision following a motion moved by BJD chief whip over the Naba Das porngate, which was passed by voice vote in the assembly.

The leader of opposition Narasingh Mishra and BJP MLA KV Singhdeo demanded to reconsider the decision and sent the porngate matter to the ethics committee for a probe, and Naba Das should be allowed to keep his stand on the porngate issue.

“The suspension decision was undemocratic as my stand was not heard. I have not given a chance to make my stand over the issue. I have not seen the video as alleged by media,” said Naba Das.

He demanded a thorough probe into the matter.

Private television camera crew covering the legislature proceedings from the visitors’ gallery of the assembly caught him while allegedly watching porn in Odisha assembly, on his mobile phone.
