BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha unit of BJP on Sunday launched a poster campaign against the state government for allegedly hijacking the cheap rice distribution under National Food Security Act (NFSA).
Newly appointed state BJP president Basant Panda launched the poster campaign in the capital city.
He said the party would reach to all villages through its 40 lakh primary members to expose the actual face of the state government and highlight the contribution of Narendra Modi government in NFSA.
“The centre is contributing Rs 27.38 under the scheme to lift rice at Rs 30.38 from Food Corporation of India. The Odisha government is paying just Rs 2 per kg to provide Rs 1 per kg rice under the scheme. But, the BJD government is trying to hijack the scheme and branding it as state scheme,” said Panda.
He demanded that government should completely abandon this flawed beneficiary list and prepare a fresh list as the BJD workers are benefited from the scheme, which is illegal.
