Postmortem report says the Odia actor died due to excess bleeding, liver was damaged
CUTTACK: Odia actress Pralipta Priyadarsini Samal alias Jessy, who appeared before Soro police in Odisha’s Balasore district, on Friday said she had a quarrel with television actor Ranjit Patnaik alias Raja over money given by theatre party while maintained that the death of Raja was an accident.
“The death of Raja was neither murder nor suicide. It was an accident,” Jessy told reporters after her deposition before the police.
She also admitted that they had a quarrel over money given by the theatre party.
While asked why she did not turn up to the police station after summon, Jessy said she did not come to the police station after got panicked after the incident.
Notably, actress Jessy, even manager Pralay and driver Dhaneswar had accompanied Ranjit to the event at Taranga in Jamujhadi area under Simulia block on that fateful night. They were invited as guests to a theatre “Kalinga Kanya” on Saturday night.
Meanwhile, the postmortem report over Raja’s death conducted at SCB medical college and hospital has come out which stated that the tele actor died due to excess bleeding.
The report made it clear that Raja was not strangulated. Raja was not also under alcoholic influence, the report added.
The autopsy report of Raja said that while his knees and wrists were broken, his liver was damaged, and the body had many injuries.
Notably, r the slain actor Raja died falling off a bridge on his way back to home on Saturday night, as claimed by Jessy and other two.
While the incident took place in Bhadrak, on returning from a stage show, family members of slain actor Raja did not believe the trio’s statements. Police also smell foul play taking into account the fact that, there was discrepancy between the statements of the driver and the event manager. On the other hand, while police took the duo into custody and started interrogating, Jessy did not turn over to the police station, raising suspicion.
