Jessy on Raja death

Raja’s Death Controversy Has No Impact On My Career: Jessy

BHUBANESWAR: Odia actress Pralipta Priyadarsini alias Jessy, who was in the news for her alleged involvement in the mysterious death of another actor Raja, on Tuesday said that the incident has no impact on her acting career.

“Yes, there has been some changes. But, my fans are with me, and I hope they will continue to be with me,” said Jessy to a news channel.

While Jessy is acting as Tulasi in television serial ‘To Aganara Tulasi Mun’ being telecast in Sarthak channel, she will debut in Odia film industry soon. She will play a leading role in Odia movie ‘Love You Jessica’ to be directed by Susant Mani.

“I have got a chance to act in an Odia movie. I am excited about the movie,” said Jessy.

Sources said the story of the movie was based on the life of Jessy and the mysterious death of Raja.

Speaking of the death case of Ranjit Patnaik alias Raja, she had pleaded her innocence and said that she was ready to face the music if proven guilty.

Jessy is on conditional bail after she was arrested by police on charges of abetting Raja to commit suicide from a bridge while returning from a programme in Balasore district.

However, the return of Jessy to the Odia teleserial did not go down well with her serial co-actors as a main character ‘Dr Meher’ left the serial.

Bhagwan Behera, who plays the main character Dr Meher in the serial, left serial protesting the entry of Jessy, whom he sees as a ‘criminal’.

“I have nothing to do with him (Bhagwan). I still respect him,” said the Odia actress.
