Six-member special team to probe tele actor Raja’s death

BALASORE: The Balasore police have formed a six-member special investigation team to inquire into the mysterious death of television actor Ranjit Patnaik alias Raja.

The police have asked tele actress Pralipta Priyadarisini Samal alias Jessy, event manager Pralay Jena and driver Dhaneswar Behera to depose before the Soro police again for further interrogation on Saturday.

“A special team has been formed comprising three IICs and three subordinate staffs to probe the death of Raja. The trio who had accompanied with Raja to attend the event have also been asked to depose before police for further interrogation,” said Balasore SP Niti Sekhar.

Police sources said the tele actress Jessy and other two would be taken to the spot where Raja is stated to have fallen off a bridge.

Notably, Jessy was interrogated by Soro police on Friday evening about her relationship with Raja and over the death incident.

She had said that the death of Raja was neither murder nor suicide.

She also admitted that they had a quarrel over money given by the theatre party.

The postmortem report over Raja’s death conducted at SCB medical college and hospital has come out which stated that the tele actor died due to excess bleeding.

The report made it clear that Raja was not strangulated. Raja was not also under alcoholic influence.
