Mild tremor felt in Odisha

BERHAMPUR: A mild tremor was felt in Ganjam and Gajapati districts triggering panic among the people on Monday night.

The tremor, which was felt for around four seconds at 10.30 pm, was reported from Soroda, Belaguntha and Bhanjanagar of Ganjam district, Mohona in Gajapati and G Udayagiri, Daringibadi and Raikia in Kandhamal district.

However, no loss of life or property was reported.

As per the India Metrological Department (IMD) release, a micro-earthquake was recorded at 10.23 pm IST at Seismological Observatories in Rayagada and Jharsuguda but was very faint in Bhubaneswar observatory.

Due to non-availability of data at three stations, the epicentre could not be determined accurately. Moreover, the tremor was very low magnitude in nature.
