SUNDARGARH: Odisha Congress on Sunday launched a Yagaran Yatra in Sundargarh district against the failure of BJD government in probing the chit fund scam, stopping farmer suicides and implementing National Food Security Act (NFSA) correctly in the state.
The Yatra was flagged off from Karamdiha Square under Subdega Block and culminated at the newly constructed Congress Bhawan at Adarsha Nagar here.
PCC president Prasad Harichandan said Congress would expose the misrule of BJD government by reaching out to people.
He said while Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi visiting Sohela in Bargarh district met the farmers in distress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Naveen Patnaik, even though visited the area, did not meet the farmers.
The leader of the opposition and senior Congress leader Narasingh Mishra said the law and order in the state are deteriorating while the Odisha government have failed to address the problems of people.
Besides, the opposition party also cornered the ruling BJD over the alleged links of its ministers and leaders with the arrested criminal brothers Sushil and Sushant Dhalasamant.
Several Congress leaders including former chief minister Hemanand Biswal and Odisha Congress co-in-charge Subhankar Sarkar attended the rally.
