BHUBANESWAR: A day after Odisha food supplies and consumer welfare minister Sanjay Dasburma submitted documents to CBI relating to his Pajero car suspected to have been gifted by Artha Tatwa chief, chief minister Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to visit the national capital on Friday.
During his five days tour, the chief minister will attend the second meeting of National Sagarmala Apex Committee (NSAC) on Saturday while he will attend important works in the government of India from April 10 to April 13, said sources in chief minister’s office.
However, the visit of chief minister Naveen Patnaik has fueled speculation that he may meet union finance minister Arun Jaitley and several other senior leaders of BJP pleading to go slow over the investigation process by CBI into the chit fund scam.
After a BJD Minister was issued notice by the central investigating agency, the beleaguered chief minister is trying to strike a deal with the central government to save his skin in the chit fund scam, said a senior leader of Congress party.
Maintaining that the involvement of BJD leaders and ministers in the chit fund scam has already been exposed, he said the chief minister should sack Sanjay Dasburma and face the CBI probe instead of striking a tacit deal with the central government.
