BHUBANESWAR: Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday said the state has made sweeping growth in all sectors attracting investments of over 200 billion US dollars during the last decade.
“Odisha has made sweeping growth in all sectors attracting investments of over 200 billion US dollars during the last decade. The overall growth in the last decade for major sectors like Power, Aluminium, Steel, IT Exports in the state has been in the range of 400 to 1200 percent,” said Patnaik attending the Raising Day function of Odisha Industrial Security Force here.
He said Odisha’s GDP grew at a robust pace over past few years reflecting a turning point in its growth story.
“The state government gives emphasis on leveraging its abundant resources and promoting maximum value addition to create employment opportunities within the state. Like any other segment of society, our industries also grow in an atmosphere of safety and security,” said the chief minister.
He said there was a felt need for providing basic security to the industries sector so that it can grow in a healthy environment.
Considering this basic prerequisite, the state government has raised the State Industrial Security Force which starts functioning today, he added.
The chief minister, who distributed appointment letters to the new recruiters, congratulated all the 1370 constables for their entry into this prestigious security force.
They will be given nine months of training in the line of Central Industrial Security Force. They will be responsible for protection and security of industrial undertakings of the state government and other establishments as well as strategic and vital installations.
