BARGARH: Several BJD workers have been detained for pelting stones at Union Textiles Minister Santosh Gangwar’s vehicle on Friday.
The vehicle was attacked while the Minister was on his way to attend the BJP’s Vikash Ustav at Sohela.
BJD MLA Devesh Acharya along with hundreds of BJD workers detained by police in Bargarh.
After the attack on the Minister, tension has erupted between BJP and BJD workers.
Earlier, BJD workers demonstrated by wearing black shirts and holding black flags.
Meanwhile, the BJP launched a scathing attack on the ruling party and state government for allowing goons to damage the car of the central minister.
“Stone pelting at Union Min Gangwar’s carPelting stones on @santoshgangwar ‘s car amidst tight security shows BJD goons can breach the security at will,” tweeted Odisha BJP.
“It is highly condemnable that Union min @santoshgangwar being OBC, Sadhvi Niranjan being a SC woman & Ex CM Arjun Munda being a ST attacked,” it tweeted.
