Attack On Union Ministers: BJD Supremo To Seek Report From Bargarh Leadership

BHUBANESWAR: BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik will seek a report from party leadership of Bargarh district on the alleged attack on the convoy of Union Ministers recently.

BJD spokesperson Pratap Keshari Deb said the party president would seek details about the incident from the district leadership.

Notably, the incident in which some BJD leaders are allegedly involved for pelting stones at the convoy of Union Ministers put the ruling party in embarrassing situation.

Deb, however, clarified that the incident had occurred accidentally. He said the ruling party leadership would not endorse such activities.

“This incident has happened, unfortunately. Had it been premeditated, we would not have convened a press meet before the incident explaining our plan to hold a black flag demonstration before the central ministers,” Deb said.

Speaking about the alleged role of Bargarh MLA Debesh Acharya in the incident, Deb said the party supremo would take appropriate disciplinary action if the alleged complicity is proved.

Notably, the vehicles of Union Ministers Santosh Gangwar and Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda were attacked allegedly by some BJD workers.

Meanwhile, BJP has decided to hold demonstration at all blocks on June 29 and in front of Raj Bhawan on July 4 protesting the attack on Union Ministers.
