Five Members of Dacoit Gang Arrested In Kendrapada


KENDRAPADA: The Patkura police on Monday arrested five persons, including a woman, for their involvement in dacoity incidents in Kendrapada district.

They were involved in three dacoity cases. They had also injured at least seven persons during their dacoity bid on Thursday night, said Nitinjeet Singh, the SP of Kendrapara.

Singh said the arrested persons have been identified as  Sudhir Nayak alias Kuna alias Baba(35), Hitendrariya Nayak alias Naga(30), Bhanjana Das alias Dogi(30), Saroj Kanta Das alaias Sarju(38) and Sudeshna Satapathy alias Jhuna(40).

It may be noted here that as many as seven persons, including four women, of three families, were injured by the arrested persons on Thursday night during their dacoity bid in Samsara, Patana and Jagannathpur villages under Patkura police station.

Patkura Police has seized two bamboo sticks, one spade stick, and Rs 3000 from their possession.

Later, the arrested persons were produced before the SDJM court of Kendrapara. They were sent to judicial custody after the court rejected their bail petitions, informed police sources.
