CUTTACK: The Orissa High Court on Tuesday ordered the state government not to take coercive action against Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MLA Debesh Acharya, who is allegedly involved in the attack on two Union Ministers in Bargarh district.
The court stated that no coercive action should be taken against the Bargarh MLA till its further order, said sources.
The BJD MLA had moved the High Court to quash the FIR filed against him for his alleged involvement in the attack on two Union Ministers during a rally in the district town.
Acharya among 14 others had moved the court for anticipatory bail in connection with their alleged involvement in the attack.
Notably, some BJD workers had allegedly attacked the convoy of Union Ministers Santosh Gangwar and Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, who were on their way to attend a programme of BJP on June 24.
