Odisha Govt To Regularize Gana Sikshyaks


BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha government on Tuesday notified conditions to regularize Gana Sikshyaks in the state.

The teachers must have requisite qualification and training by March 2018, said the notification of School and Mass Education Department.

The government would regularize the teachers, who have undergone training (CT or BEd) with Plus Two as the necessary qualification, said the notification.

All eligible teachers will be regularized after completing eight years of service. They will be accorded elementary level-5.

The government would sack the teachers, who fail to meet the guidelines.

However, the government has given time till March 2018 to the incompetent teachers to acquire the eligibility criteria.

Presently, Odisha has about 22,000 Gana Sikshyaks in various schools.

Notably, the teachers have been demanding regularization of their job since past several years. They even had hit the street several times affecting the education of students.
