Bhubaneswar: Several parts of Odisha are likely to receive rainfall in next 24 hours under the impact of low pressure formed over the Bay of Bengal, said the Met department on Monday.
“Under the influence of the upper air cyclonic circulation over West-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal and coastal areas of South Odisha and North Andhra Pradesh, a low-pressure area has formed,” said a bulletin.
The associated upper air cyclonic circulation extends up to 5.8 km above mean sea level with tilting southwards with height, it added.
“Rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over South Odisha and at a few places over North Odisha during next 24 hours,” said the bulletin.
It further said that heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over interior Odisha during next 24 hours.
